International Symposium on Hierarchical Flow Systems in Karst Regions

Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

on behalf of the Hungarian National Chapter (HNC) of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) I cordially invite you to attend the IAH Central European Groundwater Conference 2013 to be held in Mórahalom, Hungary.

As part of enhancing the regional activities of the IAH, the Hungarian National Chapter has decided to launch a series of Central European Groundwater Conferences (CEG conferences). This event will be the first one in this series.

The aim of the Central European Groundwater Conference series is to provide a forum teachers, researchers, experts, students, decision makers and other stakeholders involved in groundwater issues in Central Europe or in other part of the world.Furthermore national chapters will have an opportunity to present their activities, this way enhancing the ability for scientific co-operation between Central European countries.

The focus of the gathering is “Geothermal Applications and Specialities in Groundwater Flow and Resources”. The emphasis is on geothermal applications, but any groundwater related presentation is welcome.

Presentations on scientific results, technical and legal problems, and activities of national chapters will be held during the first two days, and we will visit nearby facilities of geothermal applications on the third day.

We strive to minimize the participation fee, especially for young people.

The majority of the Central European National Chapters have already joined our initiative and their chairs are included in the Scientific Committee giving hope to continue this conference series.
